Could someone explain me how to get a belgian resident permit,(for a non european com.person)? How to take the first steps ?Is the wedding with a belgian citizen a valid "way"? Thanks a lot for your answers, have a nice day! |

I was issued with a permanent residency "indentiteitskaart voor vreemdeling" after 6 months of having a temporary one (pink) that differs from those white ones people normally get when they get a work permit alone. The pink one (for non EU citizens) or the purple one (for the EU citizens) will eventually lead you to IVV (yellow, and you are not supposed to fold it in half and it won't fit in your wallet) then after three years you will be issued with full belgian nationality. My case the japanese govt won't allow me to have two nationailties so I gotta pick one of them. Anyway even though I got IVV through marriage, my marital status on the card "burg. staat" is crossed out, meaning that I am single. Why????

As long as Japanese gov. don't know anything about it. (it won't) you are free to pick up Belgian Passport. |
