| hobbit Junior Member Member # 958 | Posted December 06, 2001 11:03 AM Hi all, i wonder if you could help... my cousin has his permanent residency and is intending to emmigrate next year to darwin. Does this mean i have to wait until he has worked and lived in darwin for 2 years before he can sponsor me (and be assurer of support) ? i have read that all i need then is a 40point skill, 12 months experience and english... is that right? cheers ! hobbit

| Elfa Member Member # 5 | Posted December 07, 2001 04:28 PM Hi Hobbit Unfortunately, your cousin can not sponsor you at all on a General skilled - sponsored application. Your sponsor must be a parent, child, sister, brother, aunt or uncle of yourself or your spouse. If you have one of those close family members sponsoring your application, then you would score an additional 15 points in your application. Hope this helps!
