the facts in the first post are not correct as I realised there was an earlier visa and trip than the one stated above (sept) and therefore the shortfall is of 36 days.

Hi tempusfugit, I would agree with rehan01 that you apply for any other visa and kill the time till you reach your qualifying time for SET(LR) application, and once there just vary the grounds of your application and apply SET(LR). I think you could do it your self easily, no need for a lawyer ...
