amir2002: Congratulations! Are you planning your first trip on your new passport yet?

sum-ing: Read here about private ceremonies. As it says, you should contact your local authority to arrange one. Usually there is a fee for this. I think a few people on this thread have done it.

Re: New in-UK forms published today

New forms have been published today! :- FLR(M) SET(M) Quite possibly other new forms published today, The easy way to check that out is to use the Advanced Search facility, and feed in the name of the form you are interested in. Interesting... (Is it sad that I find these forms intriguing?) Re: SET...

Whirly thanks for your reply. Since I started this thread a lot has changed for me. My wife has found her time in the UK particularly challenging, probably like everyone else who comes to the UK. Anyway, we made a decision a few weeks back to move to Chile (for ever effectively). In the end her res...

If you apply in person, you will save 1000 cash and after ILR, afford a trip to France. This sounds misleading to me. Do you mean 'you will save 1000 cash' that you would have paid to the lawyer, in addition to the application fee? Because applying in person is still not cheap...£950 in person vs ...

IF the HO has followup questions, further communications or if they approve your citizenship, do they send the letter/communication by recorded or special delivery or just ordinary mail? This is for applications done via NCS so one's valuable passport is not involved. Just normal mail in my case. M...

I can't see how you can apply for ILR. I think you will have to apply under EU rules as ur hubby is exercising a treaty right from Belgium. No obligation to apply under EU rules. They could also apply for a standard 2 year spouse visa. sunita.samaria: Along with JAJ's comment, can you not apply for...

Do you get the recorded delivery number from NCS so you can track and determine your application is received? I didn't get mine; just a receipt from NCS showing that I had submitted my application and NCS fee. The HO sent an acknowledgment of receipt for the application and payment a few days later...

ok but the point is that it is not a requirement in terms of having a valid application it is not like you must be physically present in the UK like the 5 year requirement to the day. It is not a requirement, but I guess it is in the best interest of the applicant that he makes himself accessible f...
