Re: Applying for British Passport online

I believe that box is only used if you're applying for someone else. This is usually used when applying on behalf of children. Otherwise, most people leave it blank. You can also write in "self".

Re: Applying for British Passport from country other than bi

Hi All, I have just applied for my British Passport. I have recently acquired British Citizenship by registration and have my certificate. My question is, I moved from New Zealand with my family to Australia when I was 10 years old on my parents passport in 1979 and now am a naturalised citizen of ...

Re: Applying for British Passport online - Return of documen

Why do you say they don't normally return documents? They will return them if you submit documents such as birth certificates etc. Sorry, I might have caused misunderstanding. I was referring to forms and copies of documents such as foreign passports that they don't return. Original documents such ...

Re: Applying for British Passport online - Return of documen

Hi there I have just discovered this site and hope someone can answer my questions. I am a New Zealand passport holder and have applied for a UK passport online as my Father was born in the UK. All the processing has gone well. But I am confused. Today I received all my original documents back in ...

Re: Applying for British Passport online

I strongly recommend online, as it's a smoother process and less error prone. I also believe it'll be faster as handling paperwork and forms on both ends is cumbersome and risks loss of the application or parts of it. Finally, I have the impression they prefer online as it eases their workload by ...

Re: Applying for British Passport online

Per previous posts and my experience, it looks like providing a color copy of any foreign passports is fine if renewing from overseas. But if renewing within the UK, a cover letter is needed with the color copy explaining why the original passport couldn't be included. I wish the Passport Office ...

Re: Canada immigration effect on naturalisation application

It should have no effect whatsoever. UK accepts dual citizenship, and there should be no reason why acceptance of immigration to another country (friendly at least) should affect UK immigration. People change their minds and/or their circumstances change all the time. UK immigration isn't absolutist ...

The other passport requirements should be the same no matter where you apply from. Find the domestic section and use that.

Re: Applying for British Passport online

Oh yes for sure, glad this information helped! A number of years ago you had to send in your original other foreign passports. But since people complained they couldn't travel without a passport, needed it for local ID purposes, and that their other passports were the property of those governments ...

Re: Canadian move with UK citizen spouse to Spain

Well, we're all just trying to help you. Not good to brush off suggestions and thoughts as arrogantly as you seem to have done. No matter what people tell you about their experiences and anecdotes, the only accurate way to know what to do is from the government. Laws change, after all, and what ...

Re: Canadian move with UK citizen spouse to Spain

Check the immigration rules at Spain's government website. As a non-EU citizen, you'd have stringent requirements in being able to get permanent residence in Spain. But as the spouse of an EU citizen, you should be able to complete the requirements much more easily. Again, check with the Spanish ...

Re: Cheapest business immigration to EU or any other country

I don't know any more than you do, @ranhassan. Do an Internet search on what you need and research yourself. Many hits come up for this. Also, go to each EU country's immigration web site and see what the investor requirements are.

I'm pretty sure you can get Danish permanent residence as a spouse of a Danish citizen. Check with the local Danish consulate or if in Denmark the local government office.

Re: An American Seeking Dual Citizenship

It is somewhat grey. But according to the U.S. State Department, there is risk of U.S. citizenship loss if acquiring foreign citizenship is actively sought (not automatic as by marriage or birth) and if there is intention to give it up. That last part is probably the life saver in such planning. "A ...

Re: EU citizen and permanent residence in Denmark

Yes, what you say is pretty much correct. You can also reside in Denmark as an EU citizen by just showing that you have sufficient finds to support yourself. In that case, employment or pension justification would not be required. And yes, just go to your local regional administration office in ...

Re: EU citizen and permanent residence in Denmark

You have an interesting situation with a couple options. But I think you're misinterpreting the law a bit. Under your current status as a temporary resident based on family reunification (marriage to Danish spouse), you would need to apply for a permanent residence permit after 5 years in order to ...

From what I understand so far, spouse's naturalization certificate or any counter signatures are not needed. Just sign and send the declarations, photos, copies of non-British passports, and expired ...
