Re: New rules for ILR under new skilled worker visa?

Some employers don’t report changes of employments including absences through SMS as required so I understand why such a letter is required but the English language requirements are an utter nonsense

Re: New rules for ILR under new skilled worker visa?

So even if their new guidance requires new supporting documents, they cannot force migrants to meet them as what matters is the rules and not the guidance. It would be interesting to see how the new Set(0) will look like .

Re: New rules for ILR under new skilled worker visa?

Maybe deleted but still valid where applicable
There are also tier 2 to skilled worker transitional procedures in place .

Re: New rules for ILR under new skilled worker visa?

Good question Yes the new rules of the skilled worker route are simpler and the absence letters from the employer are no longer required. It may take a bit of time for the home office to update the Set(O) though . Also, HO is under no pressure to update the Set(O) as it will be years before anyone ...

Re: Absence letter from previous employer

Three steps:

1. Get absence letter from current employer
2. Write a cover letter explaining the situation emphasising you have reached out to previous employer and had no replies
3. Enclose copies of the emails you sent to the employer

Re: Absence letter

Thank you
And I assume no need for
My employer to write the ‘ remote working days ‘ in the absence letter ?

Do you think the HO will require a proof as to why I worked remotely considering it was only for two days ? Is the HO strict on short term absences especially those took during the pandemic?

Re: Falling short of 5 years by 7 days

If I were you I would apply 3 weeks minus your visa expiry date . Play it safe and avoid confusion of caseworker which can delay the outcome of your application. It’s a personal opinion and not an advice

Re: Absence letter

Thank you CULLINAN Yes but does mean the employer doesn’t need to include those days I was working remotely in the absence letter I will require when I apply for ILR ? If so, what should I write under the ‘ reason of absence’ in the cover letter I will submit ? I just worry if I declare the remote wo ...

Re: Absence letter

Thank you Zimba ! So no need to mention the exact days on the letter , correct ? Also , when I write the cover letter , do I need to mention the days I worked remotely while abroad ? And does my employer need to confirm these ‘ remote working days ‘ or they are covered under ‘ previous absences of MR ...

Re: Tier 2 salary

Hello friends

I had a chat with an immigration advisor today who stated that absence letters from employers are no longer required under the skilled worker route . How accurate is that ? Are we expecting settlement forms to be updated and that section removed ?

Thank you for your response? Do you think this will be ok even though the p60 and payroll will show less taxed salary than what’s in the CoS since some of the benefits I exchanged for my salary had tax relief?

Hi Shohjura

Congratulations on your ILR
I am in similar position in terms of passport as my previous passport was withdrawn and I don’t have copies of stamps . Did they require the passports? How did you address this issue?

Re: skilled worker visa salary problem , please help

Doubt they do
All detailed checking is carried out when the application is submitted and reviewed
You need to start the conversation with your employer as soon as possible
