passport interview

Hi everyone :) My wife got her Naturalisation certificate last week. I noticed the passport application inside her Border Agency pack. As her English isn't great, I read through the booklet that comes with it to check if she could get an interpreter at the interview. However, there is no mention of ...

I called the local authority in order to arrange the ceremony date and they said someone would call in 10 working days to arrange the date. Has anyone ever had someone from the local authority or the passport office remark or make an issue if a spouse calls on behalf of the applicant i.e. have they ...

Thank you :) 2) They won't test her at the ceremony, but I guess if the interviewer at the passport interview is concerned at all they could flag it up within the BIA. :( 1. But surely if she's already got her ESOL with Citizenship qualification which is sufficient for ILR and Naturalisation, they c...

naturalisation ceremony

Hi everyone :) My wife got her documents back today regarding her Naturalisation application and she is due to get a letter in two weeks time for her ceremony date. Since she completed the ESOL course with Citizenship over a year ago, she hasn't been able to attend any further classes as we have a s...

'submission of application' query

Hi everyone :) I submitted my wife's application for Naturalisation (AN form). I sent it via special delivery (cost me over £5) and it was due to arrive at the liverpool address just over three weeks ago from today (around middle of April). I checked on the Royal Mail website a few days after it wa...

Thank you. :) 1.I am not 100% sure, but when you apply for Nationality, a person should have moved onto a different level of ESOL from the one that they did when they applied for ILR. I called and e-mailed them and was informed that the certificates and letter she got in the summer of 2008 would be ...

A belated 'thank you' JAJ. :) I was just about to send off my wife's Naturalisation form. Just to recap: she came to the UK around about October 2005, got her ILR in October 2008; no absences from the UK. Could I please check the following: 1. Can I still use the same ESOL certificates along with Ci...

Naturalisation query

Hi. :) Wonder if anyone knows about the following: I intend to apply for my wife's naturalisation. She came in October 2005 and hasn't been absent from the UK since. She got her ILR in October 2008. I'm a British Citizen. 1. If she goes on holiday in December 2008 for a couple of months and applies ...

Hi, thanks Casa. :) The ESOL 'certificate' (or letter from the college) is sufficient for BC application. Sorry, just to clarify: can the ESOL certificate and 'letter from college' docuements USED for ILR be RE-USED for Naturalisation i.e. one doesn't need to go and do another programme of study and...

Hi, thanks Whirly. :)
Where was she in October 2005?
My wife entered the UK, for the first time, in October 2005 on a two year spouse visa, then FLR and now ILR. She hasn't been out of the country since then.
Congratulations
Thanks Zigleon :)

Hi everyone :) My wife just got her ILR. Thank you! 1. My wife's passport expires in around two years time. Do we have to get a new ILR? 2. She'll have been in the UK, three years, with no absences, in around two weeks time. (i) Does she need a new ESOL with Citizenship certificate or will the one w...

Hi everyone. :) I was reading through an earlier post about the SET(M) form which mentioned submitting a marriage certificate with the application. I sent my wife's SET(M) form a couple of weeks ago and the form didn't ask for a marriage certificate. She has FLR and the FLR(M) form we completed last...

Tax Credits problem

Hi everyone. :) Does anyone have any advice for the following: My wife came over to the UK in 2005. Our baby was born in 2006. I applied for Child Benefit in my name only and was told by the tax credits people I should do likewise for Child and Working Tax Credits. I later found out in 2007 that tax...

Hi. Thanks. :) I was just about to send it off and thought I'd check the website and thus noticed the changes. Should I call them to check if my wife can apply for ILR now or should she wait until the expiry of her FLR? She came into the UK in 2005 on a two-year spouse visa and then got her FLR in 2...

When she applied for FLR (M) last year, I used our permanent address at my parents' even though we were in the middle of our 6 month rent contract staying elsewhere. I had to provide bank statments and pay slips and so all that stuff has always been sent to my parents' address so I used our permanen...

SET (M) query

Hi everyone :) My wife came over to the UK in 2005 on a two year spouse visa. We applied for FLR (M) in 2007 as she didn't have the necessary english requirements. She got that (FLR (M)) and it expires in 2009. Since then she has now got her relevant certificates and letter from the college to confi...
