Is it necessay to get protector stamp for HSMP visa. Is there any document from government that tell about the category of visas it is applicable to. @hum786 Another factor for the delayed processing may be the verification call receive in your in office. for example if BHC call your office and your HR or Admin person is not at seat at that time. The EC processing takes from 3 - 6 weeks these days. In my case it took exactly 30 days to get EC from Islamabad. 5 working day time is for those cases where no verification is required. All HSMP applications go through verification process that may invovle your bank, employer, HEC etc.

Researcher, Protector stamp is only required when you have work permit or H1B visa as it give you so called protection against the work you secured in the Foreign country . The source of funds in many case was saving from salary that was accumulated over many years in a account which is also my salary account but i attached one year salary slips. one of my friend who got visa last year also attached the receipt for the car he owned

Here are timelines
Application Submission Date: 15/04/08
Verification Call Date: 08/05/08
Visa Stamp Date: 12/05/08
Status Update Date on Web and Docs Collection Date: 15/05/08

Sorry to hear about that. Could you clarify "transfer of 240000 in my account without giving proof ". Did you transfer this amount after the submission of your application or it was the actual amount shown on your bank statement.

EC timelines

The EC approval time varies from case to case. The EC approval may take from 3-6 weeks. The people who have applied in the third week of April are still waiting for EC approval.
