Re: Travel whilst applying for British Passport?

Hi Jazz

I'd been looking for information on this - are you able to point us to information on, or where we can find, the rules for this?

Kind regards

Greg

Re: Naturalisation application processing timelines (only)

Thought I'd add my timeline to the collection: Application Timeline Eligibility criteria: 5yr HSMP/Tier 1 + 1yr ILR; Method of application: NCS (Southwark) Date of application: 6 December 2013 Date of receipt by UKBA: 9 December 2013 (confirmed by tracking number provided by NCS) Date of debit of ...

Re: Kids at the Citizenship Ceremony

Thanks for the replies.

Sounds like we'll need to drop the 3 year old off with a friend on the way there.

Kids at the Citizenship Ceremony

Hi We've just received confirmation that our citizenship applications have been approved (HSMP/Tier 1/ILR) and have booked to attend the citizenship ceremony. I'm wondering, though, whether we can/should take our 3 year old with us to the ceremony or whether we need to get someone to look after him ...

If the Home Office have already seen your LIUK test they shouldn't need it again. Definitely agree that they shouldn't need to see it. I don't have much confidence in the UKBA's consistent application of their rules though, even when the rules are clear. Here the form's unhelpful on this point ...

Knowledge of Life in the UK test

So we don't have to sit the Life in the UK test again, right? I just went to print out the forms and noticed the changes - I was expecting to check the "I've satisfied this previously" box. I got ILR in mid-November last year and sat the Life in the UK test for that. But the person who reviewed and ...

I agree with the comments above about whether these things are required, but I was very glad to have my P60s yesterday. I was asked by CW for letters from my various employers during my 5 year time in the UK showing when I started and finished working for them. I questioned the relevance (I was ...

Thanks InUKOnHsmp. I really can't see how what he was requesting could be relevant to the application and we got through anyway, so wouldn't necessarily go and reacquaint yourself with former employers. For the record, here's how the day played out in a slightly more structured fashion: Background ...

ILR Success - PEO Croydon today (odd experience, though)

So, I came to the UK in November 2007 on an HSMP visa and then got leave to remain under Tier 1 (General) in November 2009. I applied today for indefinite leave to remain under Tier 1 (General) with my wife as a dependant. I had carefully prepared all the docs I thought I might need and laboriously ...

It crashes like that every night - you need to have entered your details before midnight and then keep hitting refresh. Have a look on here - there are lots of post giving step by step instructions. I got one the other night at about 12:25. The appointments normally aren't gone until at least 12:30 ...

Hi arifahmmed I wouldn't cancel your appointment - you may not get another! I managed to get an appointment last night and have the same message. The appointment seems valid, so I'm assuming that it's an incorrect message. I'm just going to print the official SET(O) form here http://www.ukba ...

Hi Wiyyala Yep, aayushd's right - I read on here recently not to enter any dates and that's what I did. I find the website crashes at 12 pm. Last night I got through to see appointment times quite early the first time (maybe 12:04), but it crashed when I tried to complete the appointment booking. I ...

Hi Barua / Imm2011

Barua, thanks for your encouragement. I was finally able to get one last night (well, actually about 12:25 this morning). Same process, but just finally had a lucky break.

All I can suggest is keep trying - best of luck.

I was successful in getting an appointment tonight, but it's taken me more than a week of trying and much frustration along the way. Search the forums here, there're detailed instructions on the best approach, which is what I've followed. You'll see that "technical error" message many, many times ...

Booking PEO appointment - frustration

Hi So, I've read a number of posts here with advice on how to book a PEO appointment online - I'm needing an appointment for an ILR application by 28 November, but ideally want one as early as possible in November, so I'm trying days within the 42 day limit at the moment (tonight I was trying ...

So what do you put on the form?

I see that you say that "any person who knows your children and is prepared to sign should be fine". I know lots of professionals - all lawyers, because I'm a lawyer - but they're all friends, rather than people we've seen in a personal capacity. What do you ask them to put on the MN1 form? Section ...
