IGS application fell into the next period (after 30 June)

My friend has applied for IGS visa on 25th June 2008 with next day delivery.

Interestingly I have received a letter from Home Office explainig my application could not be accepted as valid because it was made on form FLR (IGS) version 02/08. I am now asked to submit a new application under the new scheme Tier 1 (post study work).

I fail to understand why this happened as I have clearly sent my application before 30th June 2008.

Any ideas?

PSW is for 2 yrs. HO in a way has saved some of ur fess since if u have IGS now for 1 yr and then again apply for PSw AFTER A year then you had to pay application fee twice.
