Canada Visit visa processing times

Hi all,

I submitted a visit visa application to go to Canada for business purposes. I submitted by Biometric on Feb 3 and am waiting for further information.
I can see from their webpage that the current processing time is 242 days!
I know it depends on individual circumstances and all but I wanted to check if anyone applied recently and got a visa in a reasonable time (to see whether to have a hope or give up). I have ILR in UK and have US 10 year visa (they do ask if I have US visa).

They take as long as they take. US visa helps somewhat. It's almost like they feel you've been pre-vetted already. Like you rightly said, every case is different. Keep checking your dash, you might get a notification to in a month or less. Defo not 200 odd days.

Just heard back:
Visa is approved and asked me to send passport
It took a while to submit a courier pick-up request via VFS website as their webpage was rejecting the payment.

Update: Got the passport back today - 8 days from the date of sending the passport.

Timeline:

Application online: 23 Jan
Biometric letter: 27 Jan
Biometric at VAC: 2 Feb
Approval and passport request: 19 Feb
Passport sent: 19 Feb
Received with visa: 27 Feb

Congratulations. You likely would have gotten a visa that lasts the life time (validity) of your passport. Depending on what you have left on your passport, it should take you a while to apply again.

When you do apply again, the processing time would be much shorter.

where did you give your biomatrics? I had my biometrics on 8th of feb from london for canada visitor visa . still no update on IRCC. do you have any clue about current trend of getting visa from uk?
