Hi, I need some help to determine the maximum days of absences allowed in the 5 years when applying for British citizenship. I obtained my permanent residence in 2010 when I had to apply to retain my EEA residence permit after divorce from my ex. I have not been absent for more than 90 days in the past year but have been more than 90 days absent in the past 5 years.

I also need to know if I require the English Test certificate.

Many thanks

Above is the Caseworker notes use by UKBA.

Yes you have to do the Life in the UK test or ESOL with element of citizenship included
Good luck

I have another question in regards to the absence, my total absence in the past 5 years totals about 560 days and I wasn't physically in the UK March 5 years ago ( was planning on submitting my application in March).

What are my chances of a successful application?

Probably no chance.
