Hi guys,

we are on ILR and have just received the approval letter for my son's british registration. Can we travel on his old passport issued from our country and use the certificate as proof when entering back to UK?

We are hoping to travel in 3 weeks time for a family event and I'm just afraid that we don't have enough time to apply for a uk passport for him.

Thanks!!

You can get a child first time passport within a week using fast track (extra cost). Alternatively, other valid passport and BC certificate should be fine to enter (no need to explain the situation to the airline. Just at the border).
