Error signed Sec. 6 (children's signature) on passport form

Hi,
I've went to have my form Check&Send by post office and they've adviced that because I've signed Section 6 (Children signature) by mistake, my application WILL be rejected.
I've crossed my signature off in Section 6 as adviced in the information booklet.

Can someone please shed some light whether by crossing my signature off in Section 6 is sufficient?
or I should have just filled in another form?
From my own understanding reading the booklet, as long as I've crossed out my mistake, it is acceptable.

I have posted the form and supporting documents myself directly to HMPO as Check&Send will not send it for me because of the error in Section 6.

Thanks.

If you already posted the application, you will find out soon who was right.

Alexboy84, the guidance says if you make a mistake just cross it out, more than 3 crossed out mistakes and they will reject the form. I think you should be fine.

On reading this post I realised, I filled in my name in Section 9, looking at the guidance I am only supposed to do that if I am signing on behalf of a child. Not sure how this will affect my application. Its is kind of confusing that bit of the form.

Anyone who made the same mistake and survived ? :)

True. Will now just hope for the best.
It seems that no one's posted any timeline for passport application since mid feb.
Does that mean no one's applied? or there is a huge backlog and ppl are just waiting to hear back before posting anything?
hhhmmm

Yes that maybe the case, people may be waiting for at least the SMS to come through, but not sure what you mean mid-feb, a number of people posted timelines almost with me, I applied on 25th, and the application reached them on the 26th, received sms from them on the 28th. Now waiting.

I think we just need to focus on the positives InUkOnHsmp.
On the bright side, at least we know that our application is in with HMPO and HMPO will send a text out to notify us once they start processing...which in my opinion is a good thing.
I shall be waiting for my text to come through hopefully tomorrow/Monday.

Does anyone know if they process applications on Sat and Sun?

Passport for: Adult
Application Type: New
Method of application: Postal (self posted to Liverpool HMPO)
Date of application: 04/03/2014
Date application received by IPS: 05/03/2014
Date of SMS received: 07/03/2014
Date of return of documents: 24/03/2014
Date of receipt of interview letter: 18/03/2014 (Dated: 15/03/2014)
Date of Passport Appointment: 22/03/2014
Date of Passport Receipt: 25/03/2014

***I've made some mistakes on my form which I've crossed out (I've signed the children application signature box by mistake)
***I was told by check&send my form will be rejected (I took the risk and sent the form in myself without the help of check&send)

**My original interview was on 02/04/2014 at the Liverpool office.
**I've managed to get an appointment at the Blackburn office on 22/03/2014.
**Interview was good and straightforward (like chatting to a mate) and lasted approximately 10 minutes.
**The usual questions were asked but I got asked these extra questions:
-Father and Mother in-laws occupation.
-Father and Mother in-laws age.

Finally...this concludes one of my journeys and a new chapter of life is beginning.

Thank you so much for everyone's help and support throughout the process.
Be positive and you'll get there :)
