Application in progress - contact Home Office (holiday)

Hello all,

I applied for naturalisation in March this year.
I'm still waiting for the approval letter.

I will be going on holiday for over two weeks time.
I want to let the Home Office know about, so if they sent any request for further documentation,
they would know that I won't be able to reply until I am back.
Currently, there is two weeks time to reply to Home Office requests until the application is rejected.

My question is whether I should just email the Home Office about me getting away for a while or I should rather post them a letter?
The Home Office contact details I have are as follows:

NationalityProgress@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

Home Office Department 2
Nationality Quality and Enquiry Team
PO Box 306
Liverpool
L2 0QN

Any advice from you will be helpful.

You don't have to inform them you are going on holiday. Easier to get someone to check your post for you who can contact you if anything arrives.

Yes, it would be much easier if someone could check on my post.
But, unfortunately the only friends that could do it, are going with me.

During NCS appointment, they suggested contacting the Home Office in case of holidays longer than two weeks.
Would just an email with my application reference number be enough?

Home Office gets roughly a little more than 7,000 applications per month. You can email and write a letter and all that, but personally I see that there is a risk of oversight and/or your application being put on a pile of "deal with it later" case, where it could be sitting for six months or so, its okay to email and print out that email and send to postal address as a letter, but personally I think you risk delaying your Naturalisation process. Rest is your choice, of course.

Yes, I was wondering when the Home Office would actually read my email/letter.
As for your suggestion, I think I won't contact the Home Office about me being absent for a while.

As long as you have someone checking the letters posted to you, and you know you can come back on short notice for your Biometrics, it should be fine.

I went for holidays for 5 weeks next day of my NCS appointment. Didn't tell anyone and don't see any need of that. But I did gave my letterbox keys to my neighbour and I was in contact with him all that time. Hope this will help you.
