Hi,

One of the main point to meet the residence requirement is as

"You must have been in the UK on the first day of your 3-year or 5-year qualifying period"

Ex : if I submit the online application for Naturalisation on 30th Jan 2022, considering back 5 year period since then the first day of the qualifying period would be 30th Jan 2017. Now if I am not in UK on 30th Jan 2017,am I eligible to apply for Naturalisation or not ?

Highly appreciate your views on this.

You are not.

The physical presence requirement is one requirement that is mandatory and the Home Office has no discretion to disregard it.

Also, I would give it a day or two extra on either side just to be on the safe side.
