Applying for British Citizenship without BRP card.

Hi,
I have ILR status and soon be able to apply for British Citizenship. However I lost my ILR BRP card 2 months ago. I have reported it as lost and applied or a new one. I can apply for naturalisation soon.
My question is; Should I continue waiting for my new BRP card? Or Can I apply for citizenship without BRP card, with mentioning in my application that it was lost and not yet received a new one?
