Reference person with a profession

Hi All

I am preparing my application, and I struggle to arrange for a registered professional person.
(I have a friend putting their details down as Risk Manager of a large company - which I do not think fits the requirement as a professional person - they fit the British person requirement though)

Does this:
member of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces

Does one need to be a currently active member? I know someone who served but then retired/was discharged from the army 20 years ago and works as a handyman nowadays.

Were they an officer? In that case that should be fine even if retired.
Regarding your colleague, are they registered with a chartered body? In that case that should be fine.

thanks for the quick response. yes, unfortunately, my friend is not chartered as a manager.

When I actually started going through the friends, I realised to fit the HO requirement, I should had make friends tactically!

If you work in a big company, surely someone will be chartered with some professional body - you need to find someone who would agree to be a referee for you.

yes, I do work in a large company with many professionals (chartered/some contractors so are directors of their own company, etc), but I joined the current one only 2.5 years ago, so I plan to sit on the application and ask people next year when I had worked there for 3 years.
