Hi All,

I have my PEO appointment booked for IRL application next week (02/08/2014), I have collated all the relevant documents and have almost filled my SET (o) application form.

I just have a small question regarding Section 7.11
• How long have you lived in the UK?
• Please provide details of any periods of absence of more than six months during that time.

Can you please advise whether I need to specify complete duration when I was in UK i.e. Business Visa + Work Permit + Tier 1 duration or Do I just need to specify the period, I am claiming continuous 5 years stay. I am asking this question because I had a six months break before the 5 years continuous stay, please find below summary of my stay in UK

May 208 – June 2008 --> Business Visa
June 2008 – July 2008 --> 1 and half month BREAK
August 2008 – January 2009 --> 6 months on Tier 2 Work permit
January 2009 – July 2009 --> 7 months BREAK
August 2009 – April 2010 --> 9 Months on Tier 2 Work permit (Period claimed under continues stay for ILR)
April 2010 – July 2014 --> 4 Years & 2 month on Tier1 Visa (Period claimed under continues stay for ILR)

I am also conscious that this question is under Section 7 - Personal history (criminal convictions, war crimes, etc.), hence I am not sure which duration should I be filling for this question. I will be really gratful if you cam help me answeing this question.

This will be the date when your continues period of stay for ILR start (Aug 2009)
• Please provide details of any periods of absence of more than six months during that time
you need to fill this only if you have more than 6 months absence after Aug 2009

I was about to fill-in the same details as you specified, but then I gave call to UKBA helpline, they have confused me saying that this question is relating to your personal history so you should specify the full period, as the details for continues period is already requested in section 6. They also advised that you can explain your situation in your cover letter. I am not sure what should I be doing coz I don't want to confuse the case worker by explaining a six month absence for the period which I am not claiming my continues period.

Seniors in the forum I would be really grateful if you can also throw some light on this issue.

Sam 1984 my friend fill the same details which I mention you before and he got his ILR last week and I myself fill the same details and going to PEO soon.

Can you please clarify what are you going to mention in this section? Leaves only related to qualified 5 years period OR for overall tenure.

Please clarify, I am also in the same situation as yours.
