ILR refused due to work

Hi my friend will apply for his ilr in January 2015 , he had student visa and he did not had any right to work . But yet he worked for 7 month in a company and paid taxes .He is very worried now thinking his ilr will be refuse due to deception . Anyone faced this issue ? Will his visa will be approved or refuse? Any advise ? Thanks in advance .

They may refuse due to failing
276B(v), if he worked in breach of immigration laws.

He have no choice except apply either through lawyer or himself. It makes no difference If he is lucky UKBA may not check with HMRC.
