Can I revoke my application?

Hi All

I sent my ILR application about 2 weeks ago and got an acknowledgement as well. Pretty straight forward case of 1.5 year work permit and 3.5 years of Tier-1 with the same company.

My problem is that my father will be going for a ByPass operation back home around beginning of Dec.

Can I expect my application to be done by then?
If not can I revoke my application or ask for some sort of disgression from the Home so that I can get my PP for travelling purposes?

thanks for your help :)

If you request your passport back and travel outside the UK before their decision, then your application will be treated as withdrawn.

It actually expires in 2013. So I am not in a rush. But I cant obviously wait for 6 months either....

I will probably have to loose the £970 that they have already charged me nd then apply again after coming back.

What are your views on this?
Also can I request the home office to transition my application to face 2 face fast track by charging me the difference in fee ....

many thanks

There is no concept of "transition" that you refer to. If you wish to apply in-person now, you must withdraw the current postal application.

No one can tell you whether a decision will be reached on your application in time for you to receive your passport back to enable you to travel and be with your family in time of your father's surgery. Likewise, no one can tell you how many days / weeks UKBA may take to return your passport if you withdraw your application.

If you wish to travel and given that time is of essence, IMHO, you should withdraw your application and apply again as and when you wish upon your return to UK.
