ILR - Query Imp

Good Evening..
I am in the UK and need to apply for ILR in a couple of months from now.
One of the requirements is to ensure I have not been outside the UK for more than 180 days in the past 5 years of my stay.
How does UKBA track the entry and exit dates in the UK?
Some of the stamps on the passport are not good enough to clearly show the dates. I called up UKBA and they said it is up to me to declare correct dates.
Second issue:
One of the immigration stamps on my passport shows incorrect year. Instead of mentioning it as 2 Jan 2011, it shows 2 Jan 2010. I just realized this when I was looking at the stamps to check the days outside the UK. Any suggestions what I can do in this case. How can I check what is in their records and attach a proof along with my application.
Any pointers will be really appreciated.
Many Thanks

Don't worry
UKBA has their data
They just cross check with your passport
if u are going directly to PEO, if they notice wrong entry, then they will ask you about it. You can reply that you hav't noticed that error...like that
for that you can show your payslipd/p16 because it makes you left the uk more than 1 year because of error in year(2011).
Don't worry they will understand the problem

Hi Vishal,
Have sufficient evidence to prove you were physically present in the UK from 2 January 2010. I had the same immigration control stamp error (see post for more explanation:
http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewto ... start=2180) when I applied for ILR in September 2011. My ILR was successful.
With regards to your first issue, based on the best available information, the UK has no record when legal migrants leave the UK, but does record when they enter or re-enter the UK. Even the re-entry stamp dates could be incorrect. So your best shot is to look for evidence to prove you were physically present in the UK. In my case, I used the class attendance record (I accidental stumbled on in my SAR report, 2011) I submitted for my 2004 student visa renewal and examinations results to disprove the incorrect immigration control stamp dates.

thanks for the reply derlin.
Do you remember how long it took for your SAR report to come back from the Home Office from the date you requested for it.
Roughly how many days did it take?

What nationality do you have. Because it is not only UK stamps on passport. Your country of visit also stamps entry/exits. You can corelate your exit stamp of 2 Jan 11 with your exit stamp+ other proofs as suggested by other members. Smudged UK entry stamps again can be verified from you exit stamps of your country of depature
