EEA Application: Germany

I am happy that this website exists!

I applied for EEA P. I submitted the followings:
1. Marriage certificate
2. Registration Certificate that shows we have been living in our current flat since 2008
3. payslips of my current job and bank statements of both of us
4. our degree certificates showing we have been studying in the same university (2005-2010)
5. my UK work contract starting 01.05.2012
6. a declaration that my wife will be travelling with me.
7. bank statements dating 6 months back in time!

We did not submit any photos or email exchange and the like.

I am now afraid that we did not submit enough evidence about our relationship. We are dating since 2006 and got married beginning of this year. I will be happy to read your ideas on this.

Is there any way to send more evidence after the application has been made? or maybe this is not necessary.

Another question is that if they reply really fast as they announce on their website?

Many thanks,
mEEA

Not sure where you applied from but your location says Germany so I presume it is Germany.

Decisions in Germany normally take 5-10 days.

As for the documents, you have provided many unneeded documents. If this case, the more is not always the better.

All that is needed is:
1. Marriage certificate
6. a declaration that my wife will be travelling with me.

and your passport.

There is no need to provide:
2. Registration Certificate that shows we have been living in our current flat since 2008
3. payslips of my current job and bank statements of both of us
4. our degree certificates showing we have been studying in the same university (2005-2010)
5. my UK work contract starting 01.05.2012
7. bank statements dating 6 months back in time!
I would not worry too much about your relationship. Unless there is a reason to suspect the marriage is for immigration purposes only, there shouldn't be a problem. Even newly weds are allowed to apply for visa.

The fact that you are already live legally in Germany should probably remove any reason to suspect the marriage was done for UK immigration purposes.

Many thanks Jambo :)

I made the application in Germany. I submitted passport too; as per your note. I hope to get a reply soon.

One question: this that I have submitted more docs could have an adverse effect on the decision? Or the visa officer would ignore unnecessary things?

All the best, mEEA

PS. We are expecting a baby and we have to make this clear whether we will leave Germany or not. :)

Mate what I can understand, YOU applied for EEA FP. outside of the UK right? then you've given them enough and necessary evidence to decide EEA FP in your flavour, Best of luck.

The visa officers in Germany normally know their stuff so they will probably just ignore the irrelevant docs. In other counties, this could be a double edged sword by giving the visa officer more places to look for reasons to refuse the application.

Many thanks for the reply.

Then I should be worried and just hope for the good.

Bad news!

I figured out that my application - explained above - is pretty much similar to the following:

http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewto ... highlight=

except that our kid is still not born and that I applied from Germany!

It hence looks like I am to face a refusal ...

What can I do? All ideas are appreciated.

Cheers, mEEA

I suggest you don't worry too much. The applications are not very similar (apart from the fact that both of you applied for a family permit) and in that case, the refusal was not justified.

You should get the decision in a few days. It will not help worrying now "what if".

Thanks again! I think I should not read that much in here now and maybe start reading if I am refused a permit.

I am happy with your comment.

mEEA, cheers.

Hello Jambo,

This is making me unhappy: 8 days passed and I have not heard anything yet. Do you think this is still ok, and things are all fine?

All the best,
meea

Are the 8 days you count working days?

5-10 days are working days so that's one or two week.

Don't worry too much. You should get the decision shortly.

Thanks for the nice comment.

8 days are working days. It is somewhat important to us to know when will we move, if at all. Will they give me an update if I write them? Or writing them will have a negative effect?

Thanks a lot,
meea

You can write and ask for an update. That should not affect the application at all although you would probably get a standard answer that the application is under consideration or something along those lines.

Depending on how they operate in Germany (I have no idea), you should be notified when a decision has been made.

Thanks Jambo. well, it seems I already know their reply, without writing them!

But one further question. I was given a letter that says that my passport along other application material have been sent to UK for a visa application purpose. You seem to mention that the decision is made in Germany. So if these are visa officers in Germany, then things are probably easier and faster than having the decision made in UK. hmm, what is going on, where is the visa issued?! Thanks in advance. meea.

They have recently changed the procedure for EEA FP (at least where I live) where they are sending the EEA FP applications to the UK. This is just another trick to take more time to make decisions. Don`t worry you should be fine! You have provided enough documents for them to grant you the visa before your joining date IMOH. UKBA says they have to make the decision within 15 working days (3 whole goddamn weeks) but your UK work contract would make it quicker for you.

thanks newbieholland,

but do they say that openly or this is simply happening? in the end they may make the decision wherever they wish, and this does not matter how long would that take. or is is not so? thanks, meea.

The actual link is not working for some reason but I have read this recently.
Have a look here Read the news dated on the 12th March!

@newbieholland: This link seems to refer to the "news and updates" section of UKBA.

Read the news dated on the 12th March on the bottom of that page! It says all the applications from Ireland would be sent to the UK. I am not sure where you are but I am sure they have made this change in more than one countries.
It does not specify any time frame but that eliminates the chances of getting the FP in less than 7 working days due to passing the docs back and forth. So dont worry if you application was sent to UK as you are not the only one.

One can track the application status through the WorldBridge website. I made the application in an afternoon in Germany and the day after, around noon, the status of application was shown "arrived at the visa section", meaning that the application has been under consideration ever since. This is in fact very fast for the courier! I don't think that post makes a big problem at least for Germany.

I have also applied EEA fp for my family (non EEA citizen) from Munich, Germany. it's been 11 working days till today but still the status is the same since the 3rd day of submission of application:

'Arrived at the Visa Section'

please update if there is any news from Germany regarding EEA fp timelines...

From my thorough readings in this cases and information-rich forum, I do not think you should worry.
You have done every thing right plus you have a job offer in the UK.
Also, they should not be suspecious of your relation.
Good Luck...
