EEA2 visa question

A question for the forum please:

-If I'm on EEA2 visa with my unmarried EU National partner and

-if he were to get his British Citizenship, as he has been living and working in the UK for 11 + years now, and

-if we were then to get married...

Could I apply for a visa as married to a British Citizen and potentially reduce the 5 year waiting time on EEA2 to get ILR?

I read some where that it's not possible to switch from an EU type visa to a UK one.

Thanks

It is possible to switch. However, the HO just announced changes to the spouse visa which means that ILR will also take 5 years under the spouse visa route. This change comes into affect in July so better to stay on the EEA route.
