Hi Everyone

3 days I was in shock of what happened and I don't know what to expect. I am an applicant for work permit - br5 form. I am from Niger married to a romanian woman. My documents were all perfct but the difference I have with my wife who is 13 years older than me. More than 8 months I am expecting my decision and it is still a mystery when it will come. 7 of Jan 13 I got a letter with a red sticker to return it with information before 21st Jan 2013. I sent it and 5 dayss after that I got surprise. My aunt was questioned on the door from two visitors. They showed her pictures which I sent to them and asked her to show my wife on them. She pointed the girlfriend of my wife who is completely different from her. My aunt gave me a letter that we were meeting in her house before marry and she knows her very well. Before she was able to call me I was visited at home and happily my wife were at home. They asked my wife for my mother's name. She said she forgot it cos it is difficult for her to remember. They asked us why we live in different rooms and she said that I am snooring. They asked us for at least one picture with our loving aunt which we could not provide. They said thank you and they left.
What to expect now?

Well, apparently UKBA have some doubts whether your marriage is genuine, and so they started an enquiry which includes home visits.

The positive thing, of course, is that you and your wife were at the same address, but all the other points you mentioned are unlikely to make their doubts less. I think you better prepare yourself to get bad news from UKBA.

Seriously how would your aunt not be able to identify your spouse? It's a good thing you live together with your wife but seriously if I were a deciding officer I would be inclined towards the negative. You need to face the reality and prepare for the worse case scenario.

Yes brov i think you should not worry about the age wise because you know both are geniune and living together.I got red sticker too on the 23/1/2013 but they siad to send my wife Limited Company and Certificate.
which i attached in the address sticker they provided and if you read my post you will see what i explain.
But for me they know that my previous applications was connected to her for visa renewal.
Yet i dont know what that red sticker stamp represent in their work really. Either means time to make decison or time of visit

The application is about to be finalized but caseworker has got doubts that is why the property has been visited. But not knowing the partner's parent name should not be a good impression despite living same address because many different tenants can live in same property in different rooms.

Hi,my husband got letter they ask some more documents and some question about marriage.but he got green sticker.what does green sticker mean?

some received green and some red, any one with any information about them do post here..

I got mine as red sticker with the case worker name and a date which i didnt know what it meant also.

What exactly does it say on the labels? Are they address labels? Caseworks name is always on it? Always a date? Anything else?

is the date because you only have seven (7) working days for a reply to be recieved?... in the case of further info etc on applications...

Yes Guru there was an address label on the top of the red sticker before right down you meet the name of the caseworker,the application reference number on itand a date as BF: 6/2/2013. Hope you question is answered. What BF means?They put 6/2/2013

I actually do not know what BF means. Sorry. 6/2/2013 is in the future. Did they mention inside the letter a due date? If so was it 6 Feb?

inside the letter was dated 4/2/2013 should send it before that but on the sticker was dated BF:6/2/2013

My guess: they asked you to send it 4 and it needs to be there within 2 days of Royal Mail delivery time (hence it says the 6th)

Guru as you presumably guess out, in conjucntion to percieve the fact that, they really want to put an end to this application amost taken one year now with them and make decsion on the 6the if, i send it on the 4the. Stand to be corrected.

This red , green , pink and white sticker things causing another thing again for applicants . Don you think it might be new way of impletation in an undisclosed way they starteed reply for more info, telling whether this will succeed or this for interview , granted or question MARK?

It must be an additional undisclosed measure in processing the application at the taxpayer expense. Most likely these different colors may be to facilitate their own internal judgement regarding each individual case. Exactly nothing can be predict as its totally new.

I've got a question for anyone who has received mail with a coloured label, as I'm quite confused...

Is the coloured label on the letter you receive (i.e. on the envelope of the mail addressed TO you)? Or, have the UKBA included a return envelope, and this has a colour coded address label?

I'm just thinking, if it is on the letter TO you, I don't think it represents some kind of internal judgement - as once the letter has been sent, how would they know what colour was on it?!?!!?! If it is on a return envelope to the UKBA, perhaps it's to assist in sorting incoming mail, and expediting some cases?

No ! listen to how they are sending it out. They sent it like normal letter in a white envelop with second class stamp on it. When you open the letter you will see first the information or document letter they requested from you. And as you continue to unfold the letter in the evelope, you will discover the sticker stamp asking you to affix stamp whe sending the requested info. Apparantly there is no envelope in which they provided, it just a sticker stamp with the following: you have to buy envelope and affix the sticker and buy stamp for the smnall round squire Box where they said, "affix stamp when sending"

It sounds to me like it's some kind of internal measure to help them sort mail quickly. Perhaps a red sticker means an application is older, therefore should be dealt with faster? Or, maybe the different colours relate to different processing teams - again, to allow quick identification of the mail, and to get it to the right place quickly.

Imagine how much mail they would receive on a daily basis - this might simply be a way of identifying mail from existing applicants, rather than brand new applications. That's my 2 cents worth...
