I have been told by home office that i will receive a letter from them regarding my EEA2 application.
Could this be for more evidence?
My wife is just about to start university, could this letter be used in support as per evidence of exercising treaty as she just lost her job.

Rc still waiting
You mean the Home Office sent you a letter?
When did they send the letter?
By what means (e.g. 1st class, 2nd class, special delivery etc.)?
Have you changed address during the time you since you applied?

I was told it was sent via 2nd class delivery. I recently move home. But updated myy address before doing so. I have been asked to request quote a copy of the letter. I wonder what it is. As it is not the Rc I guess.]

When did they say they sent it?
When did you move?
When did you update your address?
Have you been to your old address to check that it hasn't been sent there by mistake?
What do you mean by "I have been asked to request a quote a copy of the letter"? Who asked for a copy of the letter?
