Citizenship is not another visa it's a privilege.Tier 4 wrote:Hi,
Can someone please en-light me I have just booked and appointment in NCS Edinburgh Council for my Naturalisation.
I obtained my ILR on the bases of Long residence, but they don't have any section for this category in their form so the NCS person put me in:
Applying Under Section
6 (1) A: applying based on 5 years UK residence
And said that will cover my above 5 years stay and beyond.
Is it ok I don't know what 6 (1) A: means?
Thanks
YesTier 4 wrote:Therefore do NCS staff will photocopy and return my original BRP containing my ILR?
Home office AN application form questions are not worded in a manner suitable for NCS submission. But rather for postal applications.Tier 4 wrote:what will be the answer of 6.7 and the rest after that?
6.7 BRP enclosed: Yes / No
If not enclosed then please state the location of BRP? ..... etc
However do note that it is the applicant who is responsible for the contents of the form being submitted;fielddrive wrote:Some of my friends have told them that NCS staff have been very helpful in filling out blank sections of the form. If you are unsure of a part, then I would do exactly the same, ask here for public opinion and then see what the NCS staff tell you. You should get a good idea of what to fill in on the day of your NCS appointment, which is why it is an hour long.
Thanks every one,cs95tdg wrote:

So the answer to this question would be yes. As the NCS certified BRP would be considered the original BRP in this instance.
Re Q6.12 Yes - you are expected to complete the question.Tier 4 wrote:Got two more questions, if anyone can help me?
Since I am attaching my BRP (Certified copy) do I have to fill this section?
6.12 Have you had your fingerprints taken as part of a previous UK immigration application made in the UK or abroad? If yes then I have to fill date (which I don't remember) and place.
Or this section is only for those who lost their BRP?
And can some one be kind enough to send me the direct link of fee / payment slip document that go along with AN from.
Many thanks
You would only tick that if it applies to your circumstances (I.e. if you do not meet all the statutory requirements & have mentioned special circumstances on the form). Otherwise you should strke that line out as mentioned on the form, if it doesn't apply to you.Tier 4 wrote:Sorry another silly question
Should I need to tick 7.7 on page 28 in Declaration section:
7.7 *I declare that, although I do not meet all of the statutory requirements for naturalisation, I believe that, in view of the following special circumstances, the Home Secretary should treat me as fulfilling those requirements or waive the need in my case to fulfil them.
You need to read the statement, decide if it applies in your case and then answer accordingly.Tier 4 wrote:Sorry another silly question

Please read the AN Guide & AN Booklet which detail the statutory requirements you need to meet for naturalisation. The main sections would be, the ones covering residence requirements and good character. It's important that you read these when completing the AN form, as there is a lot more than holding ILR for one year, that you will need to satisfy. Your circumstances may mean you satisfy all requirements, in which case the original statement that you enquired about in the form will not apply. But do read through the details to ensure you understand all the requirements first.Tier 4 wrote:OK, but I don't know what's that statutory requirements mean actually? and where can I find them?
My case is simple and I think I meet all the naturalisation requirements like:
Its been a year since I have obtained my ILR, which I obtained on the basis of long residence. I don't know what else I need to add up to meet the statutory requirements.
