Spouse Visa (outside Canada) - Application Question

Hi,

I am trying to submit my Visa application but I think i'm miss-understanding something or the info online is wrong. I have started my online application and on the Complete Guide (IMM 5289) it states it is mandatory to apply online but when I go to apply (on my "online application") it says to post it. I've done all the digital forms and validated them which produced the barcodes but I am at a loss on how to progress.

Could it be the case that I have to apply via post and the link my application?
