Are the referees meant to sign before I pay the application fee or after I have paid and online form has been submitted?

Can anyone clarify where to provide extra statement for missing stamp from holiday please

Write a cover letter that you will upload before you attend your biometric appointment. Referees can sign at any point around a month either before or after you apply (but before the biometric appointment).

The ukvcas website says black and white but the documents checklist says colour copy of passport so everything can be seen clearly?

is the following for referee to do or applicant to do? The wording on referee form it says:
On the back of the applicant’s photograph, please write their full name and date of birth. The photograph should then be glued into the space aside.

Ignore that instruction!
It's a left over from the paper days.
The photo doesn't have to be signed our glued, it's scanned anyway.

Thank you that is a great point! Do referees have to write their name on form in capitals?

One more qu:
I have a completed a degree in English but if I say I have it, its not giving me question about english life skills on application form. In the past application for ILR, i indicated i had degree completed in English but wouldn't meet english requirements.

I have a life skills english test certificate which I used for ILR that will meet the requirements for naturalisation.

If I say I do not have degree certificate (so life skills qu appears) is that ok although I said I had degree on spouse extension and ILR appliction??

Re. degree
You can use the test you submitted for ILR.
The degree as such is not important for the application, as you didn't use it to prove English at that time.

Thanks will do.

Do I submit ukvcas scans after the online application is submitted? Is there time limit to submit the docs on ukvcas?

Should scans be black and white or colour for ukvcas?

Yes. You must upload them at least 2 days before your biometric appointment.
Should scans be black and white or colour for ukvcas?
Either, doesn't matter.

Ukvcas on their website says upload in black and white?

Names of referees can be typed. Scan the form in black and white as instructed.

Yes it will be ok.
Did you use the English test for a previous visa application that led to settlement? if yes, you can use it.

yeah I used the IELTS B1 LIFE skils exam for ILR application in 2023. The exam was taken in 2020 though so is it still ok to use for citizenship application?

Can the referee be a neighbour and a friend?

A referee can be a friend, a neighbour, colleague, etc.

Your English test will be ok as you used it for ILR.

Thanks for replying.

One last question - the date the two referees date the reference form.
Is that meant to be a date before you paid for application and submitted or is it after the application is paid and submitted?

I can't find any guidance on it
