ILR for child stayed in UK for 10+ years

Post by raja_ram » Fri Oct 10, 2025 12:31 pm

Dear members

Requesting your advice for below case.

Our older daughter (will be 11 years in Nov) born outside UK has completed 10 years without exceeding absence and we would like to apply for her ILR. Both of us parents got ILR. We wanted to know

1. Which form to use? We are planning to go for individual application using SET(LR) one but wanted to confirm.

2. Also in the SET(LR) application under Declaration section there are 4 options.
-I am the applicant aged 18 or over
-I am the applicant aged under 18
-I am the parent or legal guardian of the applicant who is aged under 18 and completing and submitting the form on their behalf
-I am submitting the form on behalf of the applicant

So should we use second one (18 or over )or third one (parent applying on her behalf) ? Third might apply but not sure if second is for specific age.

3. If we use parent or legal guardian option then we need to fill details in Third party declaration.
We need to give consent to Home office for third party check and show evidence for financial support.
So is this the correct option?

4. So far the evidence does not ask for Parents immigration history but I guess we need to provide it anyways.

Thanks for your help

Regards

1. SET(LR) is correct
2. Third option is the correct one
3. No you do not and no there is no need for financial support
4. UKVI knows your history

That link clearly states the route applicable. If your child doesn't hold any of the visa outes stated, then the routes in the link is not relevant.

You have also not stated what your visa route or the child's current visa status is.

Different visa routes have different forms and requiments. It is not a one size fits all.

Each form is for specific route(s). The long residence has ONE form and that is SET(LR)

Then either SET LR based on 10 years or form SET F can also be used.
