How do you prove you were in UK at time of application 3 years back?

Do you need to submit anything?

Thank you

Can I start my online application and save and submit when I want? Or does it have to be submitted within certain time once started

You can save and revisit for a few weeks. I think it’s deleted after 6 weeks of inactivity.

On the part where it asks about previous application details like ILR it asks for reference number.

Is this unique application number or payment reference number from when I previously applied?

I intend to keep details of first spouse visa, extension visa and ILR

I'd guess the actual application number - payment ref would likely not be kept in your file.
If you don't have any reference numbers leave blank (it won't affect your application).

Thank you. Is the application number the unique ID listed on completed application form?

In terms of previous application details when it says name is that in reference to my name or type of visa name. E.g. ILR?

Also I was in India for first spouse application so do I put name of place where my biometrics were taken?

For the reference photo that needs to be stuck onto reference form, is it applicant name on back of photo or is it referee name?

This time last year I went to Dubai for a holiday and came back but my passport in dubai was not stamped (as egates).

The UK immigration officer did not stamp in either so is this a problem for proving I was in UK 3years to my application?

People have said provide scans of passport so wondering if challenge as no stamp in passport on uk return

Planning to submit my citizenship application mid October. Currently have ILR via spouse visa route.

I have had a 1 month holiday in July 2022 and 1 week holiday in both September 2022 and September 2024.

When the citizenship application asks about 3 year residency what exactly do I need to prove? is it simply looking at if I was in country in October 2022?

You need to provide all your trips and all stamped pages of your passport to porve that:

- you were in the country the day 3 years prior to your submission (if you apply in Oct 2025, that would be in Oct 2022)
- you didn't spend more than 90 days abroad in the last year
- you didn't spend more than 270 days abroad in the last 3 years

But UK immigration have not stamped pages on return in 2024 as evisa in place?

What do I do

I will but if no stamp at UK airport, does it not look like I never returned?

Passports are now routinely scanned so UKVI will have a record on their systems, so nothing to worry about. They are just after the abences, not the presences.

why does it have the following wording on guidance in this case then:
If your passport is not stamped when you come into the United Kingdom, you must still
provide your passport, but also provide alternative evidence of presence as above.

page 34

Absences
You must check the available evidence to see whether an applicant meets the
residence requirements.
The following can be used as evidence of residence:
• passports or travel documents which have been stamped to show arrival in the
UK and entry and departure from other countries: these should be checked
against the list of absences that applicants are asked to provide on the
application form

The guidance still does not mention evisas. Your passport still was scanned at the egates so that should be enough.

Just explain that your passport wasn't stamped in that instance. Return tickets are not accepted evidence anyway.
