Advice regarding Category F/G financial requirements for Spouse Visa

Hi,

I have a question regarding the financial requirements for the UK Spouse Visa.

I am currently the director of a 'specified limited company' in the UK. Does this mean that I 'need' to use Category F/G and I am not allowed to use Category A/B towards the financial requirement?

I plan to apply soon but this would prove difficult as our financial year has just finished (December 2023) and apparently the Immigration rules require the accounts to be ready even if it is just 1 day after the financial year end. It would obviously be very difficult to get the accounts ready in such a short time frame as it usually takes months.

If that's the case, If I resign as a director would I be able to then use Category A/B or because I have already earned this salary whilst I was a director, would this not be allowed?
