Appendix FM Parter new UK Acess for settlement visa

Hello all,

i am a bit confused or should i say very confused.

I am applying for a Spouse Visa for my wife (she is in India).

Do i have to apply from VISA4UK settlement visa OR i have to apply through Appendix FM.

All Spouse Settlement applications are through Visa4UK.

But I have seen some people are applying for spouse visa under appendix FM route. It is not stated very clearly in the website, which route to chose. So confusing.

All spouse visas since 9th July 2012 are under Appendix FM.

As far as I understand it, Visa4UK is the system used to apply. Ie. the online application portal.

Appendix FM are the *rules* used by the government to assess your application.

They're two separate things.

Appendix FM introduced recently (March2019) for spouse entry as well, It sounds like eventually they might stop Visa4UK. But for now both routes available. Both are very similar, I found Appendix FM is better version and can self upload documents.

Its Appendix FM partner introduced recently , not Appendix FM

Hello All,

Has anyone used Appendix FM partner route to apply for settlement visa? Your thoughts? Is it better to use this or visa4uk?
I am aware the documents can be self uploaded. Can anyone please tell me the list? What’s the MB size is?

List of documents will depends on your category and situation. If you browse here, you will find in number of posts.
Size up to 10Mb, but keep as minimum as possible to save time.

Guys can I ask when you applied for this visa did you apply as FM Partner or Settlement? reason why I ask is when I done this application it was FM Partner on gov site, it then redirected me on the vfsglobal site and there I believe it gave me the option of both FM Partner and Settlement and I chose FM Partner as that was the application I made for spouse visa.
Is this correct or should I have chosen Settlement? would this matteR?
