average salary for software developer in UK

Hi,

I recently got a job offer from a company which is offering 35k per annum(the company is in london). I'm a software developer with 5 1/2 years experience in a major product company in India.

I would like to know if this is the average pay for software developers? Or is it way too low.

I think 35k in london is bit low compared to cost of living if family is involved.
If you are single it seems to be good salary.

About normal pay for Indian companies - which is very low.

It also depends on the technology you use. All developers are not equal. However, £35k is a low salary, especially if you will be in London.

I have been offered 49,000 pounds p.a. in a software product Co. in London. Is this too low? I am married and have a young daughter. I wonder if I can manage the family with this salary. Can you help?
