I applied for my British Passport by post at the post office after my citizenship ceremony. Its been 1 month and I week I applied but have not gotten any reply apart from text msg I received on 19th of July from HMPO acknowledging the receipt of my application.
Please anyone here know how long the processing time is?
Thanks

Have you not received confirmations by email?
Have you asked your referee for confirmation of your identity?
You can track your application here, you need your PEX application number:
https://www.passport.service.gov.uk/track/
Please anyone here know how long the processing time is?
I received my passport exactly 5 weeks after posting my documents. Recent timelines are here:

Thanks for your reply, is the time line different from online application?

I think you are just unlucky with waiting times - many people here and elsewhere are complaining about how long it takes ....
There's a section called "Refusing or withdrawing a passport" on page 5 of this document:

Sorry I saw Post but I can not track it as my barcode did not start with PEX, according to the website, its only those that captured their passport at the post can track.

OK, that's too bad then. Well, you are still within average waiting times, I would not worry too much.

I managed to track my application today and got the below reply from HMPO Dunham.
Thank you for your email about your passport. I am happy to confirm we received the application at our Durham office on 18th July 2022.
The application is awaiting to be looked at. We do not need anything further at this stage, but if the Passport Officer needs additional information, they will contact you.
All correctly completed applications are being processed within our advertised processing times, which is approximately 10 weeks for a passport application.
Regards,
Her Majesty's Passport Office

Other ways to apply
It takes longer to apply by post than online.

You are still within the 10 weeks from the 18 July, so no reason to worry. The passport service is extremely overwhelmed at the moment with many people experiencing delays. If they need more information from you they will be in touch. Processing times for individual applications are random, two people applying on the same day could get their passports on completely different timescales.

I got the below mail after my enquiry yesterday. I don't know if it a mistake by saying my application was processed on 18th July.
Thank you for contacting me regarding your passport application,
Your application was processed on the 18th July and it's waiting to be examined within the service level agreement.
We have the information we need,if anything else is needed we will contact you.
All correctly completed applications are being processed within the timescales of the service you applied for, which is approximately 10 weeks.

Her Majesty's Passport Office

You've done nothing wrong. You simply have to wait the 10 weeks processing time (from the 18th July, that will be around the 22nd September).

I managed to call them last week to let them know I have to travel urgently. This Monday I called again and they gave email address to write a mail. I did and they gave me a missed call in the evening and send me email as well requesting extra £92.50 for them to issue it that same them. On Tuesday morning I called them back, they collected the payment on the phone bum my passport was printed same day. Today I received it together with my other documents including my settled BR card. What am suppose to do with again?
Thanks all for the support and everything. It's all over now to the glory of God.

There's no mention of "upgrades" on the HMPO fee schedule
https://www.gov.uk/passport-fees
Did they give you this in writing? If it's no clear I would ask them for an explanation in writing, and a refund.
It's a lot of money ....
