British Passports Interview

Dear Admin, Moderator and members of the forum,

I hope you all are fine and happy.

Question will ask on behalf of my cousin.

She applied her 1st British Passport 3 weeks ago, yesterday she got email mentioned that 'We haven’t received most recent foreign passport, travel document or identity document. We need you to send the original document (or colour photocopy if applying from overseas) so we can check if the name matches the name asked us to show on British passport. We will not issue a British passport in a different name'

AND today she got email for interview

'You need to complete a routine passport interview. As a first-time applicant, we can’t print your new passport until we confirm your identity at interview'.

She send her 2 passports with Naturlization Certificate mentioned same name on both (before marriage her surname was different and now her surname with husband name). She is bit worried cuz her DLR & ILR and she sent her marriage certificate to Home Office but overlook her solicitor to mentioned before marriage surname and also she overlooked on her AN Application.

Is there any problem now with her nationality? Can they revoked her Naturlization? Can they consider her current passports and certificate with husband surname?

Please advice.

The passport interview is just to confirm identity and involves HMPO asking some general questions - not to review previous immigration history or nationality. After which they normally print/dispatch the passport.

If the surname shown on the naturalisation certificate is the same as per the Pakistani passport there should be no issue.
Otherwise HMPO would have made contact long before and pointed out the discrepancy.
Being called for a passport interview (and many applicants are called, including myself a few years back) is normally the last stage before issuance of passport.
