Naturalisation Form AN questions

Post by sagarchhadva » Fri Nov 06, 2020 2:41 pm

Hello

I am in the process of completing Form AN for my naturalisation application and have a few queries which I was hoping to find the answers to here. I am applying through the non-EEA Tier 2 -- ILR route, having been on ILR for 18 months now.

1. Employment history - I have been with the same employer for 8 years although have had several role changes during that time. I am assuming in the form I can just provide my current job title and my original start date in March 2012?
b) Prior to starting with my current company in March 2012, I worked for an employment agency for six months. I have very few details of that time, such as the confirmed start and end date of employment. I don't seem to have the paperwork - is that going to be a problem?

2. There is a question on the form: 'When did you first arrive in the UK?' Should I enter 2010 when I first came here as a student, or 2015 which is the start year of my qualifying period?

3. 'Details of your trips outside the UK' - should I only provide details of trips going back to 2015, or 2010 when I first entered the UK?

4. In the documents list, it says: 'Two referee declarations for <applicant>' - when do I get the declarations as I haven't seen any so far in the application. Do I get this after I submit my application?

5. I need to book the appointment with UKVCAS within 45 working days of submitting the application. Should I wait for the current lockdown to be over, or I can submit now and keep looking for an appointment?

Many thanks!

1. Employment history - I have been with the same employer for 8 years although have had several role changes during that time. I am assuming in the form I can just provide my current job title and my original start date in March 2012? Yes
b) Prior to starting with my current company in March 2012, I worked for an employment agency for six months. I have very few details of that time, such as the confirmed start and end date of employment. I don't seem to have the paperwork - is that going to be a problem? No - just give your best estimate (month/year) - your employer was the agency. You may be able to get some details from HMRC but that will take time and generally they just have about five years of history.

2. There is a question on the form: 'When did you first arrive in the UK?' Should I enter 2010 when I first came here as a student, or 2015 which is the start year of my qualifying period? If you arrived in 2015 then yes.

3. 'Details of your trips outside the UK' - should I only provide details of trips going back to 2015, or 2010 when I first entered the UK? only back to 2015

4. In the documents list, it says: 'Two referee declarations for <applicant>' - when do I get the declarations as I haven't seen any so far in the application. Do I get this after I submit my application? You should be able to print those when you submit.

5. I need to book the appointment with UKVCAS within 45 working days of submitting the application. Should I wait for the current lockdown to be over, or I can submit now and keep looking for an appointment? UKVCAS are an essential service so they are open - it's up to you but personally I would get an appointment ASAP, the sooner you get your data into the system the sooner they start work on your application.

Should I enter 2010 when I first came here as a student,
2) It should be 2010 when you came with the intention of a long stay. However, you will only list absences during your qualifying period.

As @Alterhase58 said, you will be able to download referee forms after you pay and submit.
But you can see here also:

PS: Normal Appointments are running at a 28 days lag.
