Passport Office open on sundays - Durham

I was wondering if they actually work on Sundays. I got a call today regarding my application and the staff member introduced himself as a case worker at Durham PO. I attached a letter asking them to deliver my passport and old one to the work address and the call was to let me know they can't.

He asked me few security questions to start with and I had to answer them. But I am still in doubt whether that actually was the Passport Office He apparently knew my previous nationality as well.

Has anyone been approached by them on a Sunday.

Yes they work Sundays and Bank Holidays.
