It is INCREDIBLY difficult to read one massive solid block of text like this. Please use paragraphs when posting!!tsar_bomb36 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 6:24 pmDear immigration experts, I recently completed and paid for my UK naturalisation application on the family route but yet to send supporting documents and want to clear a few questions that i did not quite understand. In the olnine application forms there are a few questions regarding the English language requirement. First of all, I have a B1 certificate that is more than two years old but which I used in my previous application for indefinite leave to remain application and was successful, and according to the rules I can still use it to prove my English language requirement and that is what I intend to use for my naturalisation application when uploading the supporting documents. I was asked if I have a degree that was taught in English, and I answered yes, because i really do have a BSc degree from a foreign university that was taught in English and about 10 years ago the then NARIC ( now called Ecctis) certified my degree certificate which I used for my leave to remain application at the time but after which I stopped using for my subsequent applications because it was no longer valid as evidence as the UKBA now requires Ecctis certification, that is why I took the B1 certificate and rsther used it for my indefinite leave to remain application. The next question is ''does your degree meet your English language requirement''? I answered ''no'', because even though technically it does meet the English language requirement, it needed to be certified by Ecctis, which I don't see the need when I can simply use my IELTS Life Skills Speaking and Listening at B1 as evidence of my English language requirement. The next question is ''what will you use to prove your degree was taught in Enlgish'' without asking anything whatsoever about the evidence I will use as my English language requirement, which I would have answered my B1 certificate. It left me with no choice than to say I will use my degree certificate. Next question is ''have you provided evidence of your English language ability in a previous application'', to which I answered yes, referring to my B1 certificate. I intend to use my B1 certificate all the same as evidence when I'm uploading the supporting documents but because I answered I will be using my degree certificate, UKBA is expecting me to present my foreign degree certificate as evidence, but it has not been certified by Ecctis. My question is, should i go ahead and use my B1 certificate as English language evidence or apply to Ecctis for certification of my foreign degree and use that instead? The application to Ecctis takes about 15 working days which I think may take longer and I do not want to wait that long to upload the supporting documents. What do you think? Do I stand a chance with just the B1 certificate? Kind regards
