Subject Access Request Disclosure incorrect/incomplete

Post by eealess » Wed May 03, 2023 10:14 pm

Hello,

My Subject Access Request Disclosure came back with around 10% of my international travel.

I was trying to use the data to fill out the citizenship application but it's quite useless in my case.

Has anyone else had the same issue?

Does that mean they are only aware of a small part of my absences from the UK?

I am pretty sure I have spent more than 450 days outside of the UK in the last 5 years and I am struggling to gather the correct dates. I was worried about writing a cover letter asking for discretion when considering my excess of absence and providing evidence of the reason I had to spend so much time outside of the UK, but now I am just wondering if I should just use the data from SARD/SARU + add the plane tickets I have found instead of wasting more time looking for those exact dates.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Have you requested for full or partial SAR disclosure?

Hi Amazonianx,

Assuming basic. Below is the cover letter:

Disclosure from Home Off ce Basic records under the Dat Protection Act
2018 (DPA 2018)
Dear Sir
Thank you for your Subject Access Request (SAR) which was received on 1st October 2022. Please accept our sincere apologies for the delay in completing your request.
We have processed your request and enclose copies of the data held by the Home Office for yourself up to the date the SAR was received. The enclosed data consists of copies of Entry and Exit, (we do not hold a copy of the Landing Card as requested), and the data we hold on the computerised database PEGA. The PEGA data may include caseworker notes, a summary of the immigration history, decisions and details of any appeals.
It should also be noted that the Home Office border systems hold records of passenger UK entry and exit data only via scheduled commercial routes. The accuracy of the information provided is dependent on the quality of data submitted by the carriers. Any errors or omissions in the data provided will need to be raised with the carrier that provided the information.

I must further advise, that we are only able to provide data for the last five years at this time. The majority of our customers find that this meets their requirements. However, upon request, we will search for older records where there is an urgent need for this information. If you require this service, you will need to provide details/copies of the passports or I.D. cards used.
Please note that the documents you receive may have been redacted. This is because Home Office records sometimes include other information that we are not able to release to you under the DPA 2018, (for example, another person's data
We have now concluded our action on your SAR request under the DPA 2018. This disclosure is the property of the data subject and should ultimately be retained by them.
