when i applied for ILR, University of madras is approved university and did not do any english test in the past
do i need to do one ?
or i can answer no to the following questions

Have you passed an approved English language test?

if i answer no to above, i am getting the following question.

Are you claiming an exemption from the English language test due to a medical or mental condition?

You need to check your answers and answer Yes to the question "did you already provide evidence of knowing the English language?"

Citizenship application - help required on English language question

Post by rameshcafe » Fri Apr 19, 2024 8:56 pm

HI,
my background
i came to UK on tier 2 (intra company transfer) in 2009
moved on to Tier 1 in year 2011
i got the the ILR in July 2014 and it is going to expire in July 2024
I never did any english test/Naric /Ecctis to prove my english language.
the certificate is in english and tamil and in recognised university , so during that time English test/Naric /Ectis is not required.

since now i am planning to apply for British ctizenship
do i need to do ectis / English test, because in the declaration it is asking for ECTIS letter

in previous topic , some of the answers i got for 1 to 3 in this forum, which i can also do the same. however for question 4 and 5, i am not able to see any answer in this forum.

Yes

2. Did you meet the knowledge of English requirement as part of an indefinite leave application made on or after 28 October 2013?
Yes

3. Do you have a degree that was taught in English?
No

4. Have you passed an approved English language test?
No

5. Are you claiming an exemption from the English language test due to a medical or mental condition?
No

Many many thanks in advance for your help in response

You either need to do the B1 English test or have your foreign degree assessed by ecctis.

You cannot simple select no for either question.
Char (CR001 not Casa)
In life you cannot press the Backspace button!!
