Applying for settled status - No pre-settled UAN number

Hello,

My wife has pre-settled status. As of January, she has 5 years residence and is eligible for settled status. My wife initially entered the UK under the Surinder-Singh route and is a non-EU citizen.

We have gone through the entire process with no issue, but there is one sticking point. The online application is asking for her 16 digit application number (UAN). Apparently this number is on all emails and letters regarding the pre-settled application.

All of our letters and emails refer only to an "application reference", which is a 9 digit number. The same number appears on both emails and letters received confirming that pre-settled was granted.

So we cannot proceed now without this 16 digit UAN. Any ideas what I need to do in this situation? I believe, due to entering via Surinder Singh, we were required to do a paper application for pre-settled (but perhaps i'm imagining this).

Any ideas?

I'm going to answer my own question, since I already resolved it. Rang the EU settlement scheme centre and eventually got through.

Basically, the shorter application ID was for paper applications. Our pre settled application in 2020 was paper based.

So to convert an application ID into a UAN, you simply stick seven 0's in front of it

So application ID 085729376 becomes 0000000085729376.
