No entry stamp by border control.

Post by Janjua06 » Sun Feb 04, 2024 6:43 pm

Hello all,
I recently came back to UK after spending 3 weeks in my home country, my wife and child who are my dependents were outside UK for a few months (less than 6). However upon returning to UK i have noticed that the border force officer stamped their passport but not mine, though my biometrics i.e fingerprint was taken , i came to know about this 2 days after my arrival while checking the passports.

My question is does this effect my proof of continuous residency in UK do i need to contact home office or any official regarding this. As I ll be applying for ILR next year. If this is issue what can be done?

Many thanks.

Not sure what can be done - don't think there's a way to get a stamp retrospectively.
However, I don't believe that will be an issue - generally you don't have to prove every absence/return.
If you are at all worried keep the boarding passes for that trip. Also ensure you record all your trips from the prospective ILR application back 5 or 6 years - you will have to provide this if you are going for naturalisation.

No need to do anything.

This not an issue at all, has no impact on the ILR application.

They may or may not have the information. They will ask you to confirm first entry, certainly for naturalisation.

For ILR you will manually input your absences from the UK on the form. Also you submit the stamped pages on the passport.

Again, a missing stamp is not an issue.

Did you keep your boarding cards and tickets?
