ESOL Cambridge Certificate Use for Spouse Visa?

Post by TeamTorb » Fri Oct 06, 2023 6:38 am

Hi

My partner is fluent in three languages, English being one of them. He has a C2 from Cambridge, issued in 2014. Our application etc is for October 2023. We understand ESOL is no longer accepted, but Cambridge C2 is top tier for them and doesn't expire. Is this something we can still provide without this being grounds for refusal?

Just seems absurd to have my partner take an English test again when he's already proven he's fluent to UK standards, and it's the only language we converse in together.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Logic does not come into it. There is a checklist that someone needs to tick, if not there it counts against the application.

Is the C2 on the list approved for spouse visa, you check.
As you rightly know esol is out of it.
