evisa status / share code after naturalisation approval

Post by rising_extended411 » Tue Feb 04, 2025 10:13 pm

Sorry if this has already been asked before.

My child is on a skilled worker dependant visa and has applied for her naturalisation under MN1. (One Parent got ILR and child born in UK)

Question is what happens to online Evisa status after naturalisation approval? Can I use that to travel / enter the UK after naturalisation approval?

My child is currently outside the country while her application is being processed. What if approval is received while still outside?

1. Can she use the online Evisa /share code to board the flight and show it to airline officials from departing country? Will it still be active?

2. And can she use it to enter the UK and show it to UKVI?

Anyone who has received naturalisation approval recently can you share what happened to your online Evisa status? (especially if you were not on ILr, but a dependent visa?)

Maybe it's slightly different case, but my settled status (basically the same e-visa) is still active even after 2 years from naturalisation.
Theoretically e-visas/statuses are getting void at the point you naturalise as a British citizen. But in practice they don't get deleted immediately.
So I think you have two options:
1) Try your luck and go to the UK with e-visa (if it doesn't disappear in your account, you should be fine, at the UK border if the officer tells you about problems with the e-visa, tell him your situation. Your child is already British and he can't not let him in.
2) Wait for the naturalisation certificate to arrive by post. Go to the UK to collect it and apply for a British passport or RoA sticker at the consulate.

the child will be able to enter the UK if the acceptance was received during the trip. Just get a UK passport ASAP after. The evisa may continue to show up but it is technically no longer valid.
