Extend maternity leave?

Hi,

I'm on a Tier 2 visa and currently out of the country while on maternity leave. Is it possible to extend my maternity leave? My employers are happy for me to take 3 extra unpaid months of maternity leave (out of the UK), but will this affect my visa status?

I'm not concerned about ILR at this point, as I'm hoping I can switch to a partner visa once we are married.

As long as your employer is made aware and they agree with this setup, it should be fine. Since they agree, they will not inform the home office of your absence from UK.
