Some Mini Good News:
Applied for Fee waiver (first extension) on 04/12/2023
Fee waiver granted - 01/07/2024
Big relief....

Now moving to submission of full application....
Congratulations 🥳 Please tell did you have right to work during wAiting fee waiver application or you still working?
Yes you have the right to work, your immigrations status does not change. However its tricky if you are looking for work. If you are already working they can not stop you working when your immigration status application (fee waiver) is on going. Regards.

Good news update !

1st extension
25th August 2023 (3 days delayed expired visa ,after medical emergency)

5 September 2023 Biometrics

Found out my right to work was revoked because of late application 4 months of back and forth with home office after high risk of being made destitute got a lawyer and applied for varying under super priority.

Varied 20 June 2024
Biometrics 27 June 2024
BRP GRANTED 28 June 2024 !
Congratulations 🥳 can you tell me how much did you paid super priority.. what’s whole amount fees plus super priority thank
Congratulations! Glad to see some movement in 2023 cases. I've been waiting since June. Tried calling but was no use, call handler sounded clueless, even about basic stuff. Might try again and see if I get someone else more knowledgeable.
It's because of home office I've started keeping tabs on mental health, the anxiety and waking up with cold sweats in the middle of the night is crazy.
One would think those who have renewed several times prior with no major change of circumstance would be faster.

God has finally done it for me. It's my turn say that my Flr Fp first time application via the private life route has been approved after 21 months of waiting. Biometrics arrived 3 days later and Passports were returned a month after. I'm so grateful to God and for this forum for giving me hope in the gruelling waiting period. Congratulations to all who have recieved a postive outcome and i pray that all those who are still waiting for a decison, will recieve their own Goodnews soon too. Amen!

Congrats. Can you give us the timeline of your application if you can, just as a reminder, pls?

21 months wait is crazy. Was it private life via 20 year route or family ties?

Thankyou so much @ OptimisticNow. Yes! The wait was absolutely insane.
Below is my timeline:

Solicitor used: Yes
Fee waiver application: 15th June 2022
Fee waiver approved : 11th July 2022
FLR FP First time Application submitted: 18 July 2022
Biometrics submitted: 6th September 2022
Wrote to my MP : 30th October 23. Got a response realtively quickly.
The Homeoffice wrote back stating that Flr fp applications are not currently subject to any service standards and I will be notified as soon as a decision has been made.
Wrote to my MP again: 10th April 2024. The same response from the home office.
Approval granted: 20th of June 2024
BRP card arrived: 22nd of June 2024
Passport arrived: 19th July 2024

I was granted under the private life route. I qualified under this basis of: "Adults, 18 or over, have spent less than 20 years in the UK and would have very significant problems living in the country you’d have to go to" I also came in to the U.K as a child, if that helps. I was put on the 10 year route, so i will be renewing every 2.5 years until i get to 10 years . Its been one hell of a journey and I'm so thankful to God Almighty that is over for now until my renewal . May God Almighty answer the prayers of all of you who are still waiting 🙏🏿

Thanks for your detailed response @Pam_ieee.

Being that it was less than 20 years when you applied, did the 2 years delay before it was finally granted made u reach the 20 years mark or still under 20 years?

I asked this because why would they make you wait two years because the significant obstacles 2 years ago is still probably there today?

Also, I hope the new Labour government scrap the renewal after every 2.5 years for 10 years. It’s costly and waste of time. Should be iLR after the initial 2.5 years. It’s fair.

Hey! You're welcome.

Actually, the 2 years didn't add up to 20 years but 16 years. I think the delay stemed from the fact that I had such a complex case . I don't think it's possible for me to explain without going into details. I believe that its by the special Grace of God Almighty coupled with the fact i came here as a child and have strong family ties here in the U.K that made me qualify.

I agree with you! I do hope the new Labour Government is empathetic towards us. This renewal scheme is such a waste of time and money but I suppose that's the way they make their money, even though it's not right.

We thank God for this outcome. So this is your first application. next application will be renewals. Am asking coz of mention of passports coming back....But anyway enjoy the peace now and get on with your life, hopefully we will see changes with this new govt.
If you're between 18-25 I think there's a rule that one can apply for indefinite after having legal stay for 5 yrs. That's what i will pursue for my kids as they're at the moment still my dependents though above 18.

I agree with you, after 2.5 yrs one shud indeed just apply for indefinite. I think we need to engage our local MPs more so that this is scrapped

thats good news to hear, im doing my bio on the 23rd in liverpool, i hope for both of us we dont have to wait long after bio to get decision, i hope other applications follow suit, coz the waiting game is really bad, i understand if it was years ago when it was all paperwork and it delays, but now everything is digital and with one touch of the button they can see all your information , so begs the question why does it takes many months, even for some many years, its like once they recieved any application they just let it sit there until they bothered to look at it again, which is what causes a the huge backlog, its depressing coz all of us just want to get on with our lives
