No. Unmarried Partner means having lived together as would a man and wife for 24 months. And be divorced if married.hekistodru wrote:is there a formal definition for "unmarried partner" -- does a girl/boyfriend count? or does it entail something more serious eg living together
i saw the long residence form asks this question and i am not sure
No, UPV is a tough one, all boxes need to be ticked, a serious relationship involves living together for an extended period, in the absence of any real commitment by the couple, i.e. marriage. Can't really expect UKVI to chuck out visas to every girlfriend/boyfriend relationship, enough marriages fail as it is especially international ones, believe me, I've seen the figures...hekistodru wrote:thanks - actually i called them - they said the opposite, that any serious relationship does.
what you guys said makes more sense tho
Why call the Home Office 'helpline' then if it doesn't apply to your application? Especially when it's a premium rate phone line and they are notorious for giving incorrect advice.hekistodru wrote:ok - thankyou - it is just one question that is not related to my application anyway
