My friend who is UK based is applying for a visitor visa for her mother who lives in India. She has her mother's property documents and father's death certificate in Hindi. these have been translated and certified as true copies by a notary. However, the immigration guidance says:
If you submit a document that is not in English or Welsh, it must be accompanied by
a full translation that can be independently verified by the Home Office. Each
translated document must contain:
confirmation from the translator that it is an accurate translation of the original
document
the date of the translation
the translator's full name and signature
the translator's contact details
Does anyone have any experience of this? Is a translation with a notarized certification ok rather than a statement from the translator?
Best wishes,
Sumeet
