Global Talent Visa Endorsement Review

Hi,

I recently submitted an application for Global Talent Visa Endorsement. My application has been rejected. The reason for the refusal is:

The application did not sufficiently demonstrate that the position to which the applicant has been appointed either:
1. Has responsibility for academic, research or innovation leadership and development; or
2. Directs or leads an individual or team research or innovation project or programme of work.

I have been working as a Senior Lecturer in a university for the last two years and the Statement of Guarantee letter provided to me by the university states (among others) the following:

"“Dr XYZ accepted the job offer for the position of Senior Lecturer within the school of XYZ, at XYZ University. It is confirmed that in this position the applicant will have direct or lead an individual or team research project or programme of work; or will direct or lead an individual or team innovation project or programme of work.”

My understanding is that this statement fulfill Criteria 2 above. Moreover, our university has provided similar letters to other successful applicants. My university is happy to provide me a more detailed letter. However, my understanding is that if I want to add new evidence (letter), I will have to make a fresh application. So my question is whether there are sufficient grounds here for a successful review application? Moreover, our university has a relatively fixed template for the letter which they issue to all Senior Lecturers. Therefore, while I am a Programme Director for one of our postgraduate programmes and a co-head for one of our research centres, they did not add any of this information in the letter. So while new evidence cannot be submitted, should I highlight this in the review form as a further clarification of the above?

Why have you registered a second username, 7 minutes after logging in with the other original username?? Multiple usernames are strictly not permitted on the forum.

Hello CR001,

I am visiting my home country and perhaps that's why I am having issues logging in from my original account. I tried to change the password a couple of times but still they don't seem to work. At one time, I thought I had successfully logged in, but then again received the login prompt as if I had been logged out. Therefore, I had to create another account to post my query. Please let me know if there is a way around and I will be happy to stick to my original account.

All these elements related to your role and the endorsement criteria need to be explained and (strongly) addressed in the statement of guarantee, you already were advised about that

Only saying that you fulfill one of the conditions is not enough, need to elaborate on how in a new application. I don't think this qualifies for a review.

Every application is unique, whatever worked for other candidates not necessarily work for everyone.

Thanks lolo2. The decision letter stated that "The job description and statement of guarantee provided as part of the application did not satisfy that the position fulfilled either of the above criteria. The application has therefore been refused on this basis."

The job description attached with the Statement of Guarantee included, among other, the following statements:
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct and lead research and enterprise projects within ...
- Lead and develop internal/external networks for example...
- Provide academic leadership to those working with programme areas ...
- Lead teams within areas of responsibility
...

Anyway, I think I will ask the university to provide a more detailed Statement of Guarantee and submit a new application.

That needs to be disclosed in the statement of guarantee, emphasizing on your personal responsibilities relevant to the GTV route!

Mr/Ms xx has been conducting and leading research and enterprise projects within ...
Mr/Ms xx has been leading and developing internal/external networks for example...
Mr/Ms xx has been providing academic leadership to those working with programme areas ...

The JD is a general document for anyone doing that job!
